Devblog alpha phase
Sunday of February 05, 2017
It was a part-time two day setup to relaunch the kosilog website and to set a different logo, theme, background and stuff. So how is this dev blog different from my existing game website blog Pinoypixel? Honestly there won't be much of a difference in topics since Kosilog will also rely on Scirra Construct 2+3 platform and run with html5. I decided to write a different dev blog is one due to size, second the domain will take a few more years to expire so might as well use it, third Kosilog is a visual novel game while Pinoypixel game will most like be platformers or shooters.
The succeeding notes will contain the gameplay overview, design approach, plot summary (no spoilers) and rouge system.
Kosilog revamp
Saturday of February 04, 2017
Kosilog has been updated to a diffrent platform. When things don't go well it is better to change than to stay. This time Kosilog has been revamped as a game platform, that focuses on light visual novels genre. Recently I have been reading alot of light korean, japanese and chinese translated novels which intrigue me to create Kosilog to such platform. The revamp was quick since most of the previous files from Kosilog is not worth maintaining. The only project that has been migrated to this new platform is the 2 point perspective web comics which was written or drawn back in 2011.
Project went into hiatus
Monday of January 02, 2017
After its first year, by mid of 2012 Kosilog went into a hiatus due to various priorities. Both of the founders got married and eventually have been busy with their kids. One of the founders migrated to Canada, while the other stayed in Singapore. Challenged work loads, processing immigration requirements, handling a kid with down syndrome and post operations, those time crunched days eventually ended in dropping Kosilog.
After a few breather, Kosilog has been a site for demo products such as quick prototype site for comic panels, a basic comic builder and all sorts of stuff. As of the moment Kosilog has been to push to a pixel art visual novel platform, aiming for gamers and light novel enthusiast.
Kosilog as webcomics
Sunday of January 01, 2017
Prior to the current platform. Kosilog served initially as a Philippine themed web comics website. Unfortunately during its time as a web comics, we were able to release only one entry titled 2-Point Perspective. It was a brief period of testing, but we learned alot of things about website management and releases.
After ending the series Kosilog turned to planning and design stage and a few sample prototypes didn't kick off.
